The thrill of backpacking in the USA could be back as I am entered in this competition from Aer Lingus to win a trip to the USA. Even better is that the trip is from Dublin or the UK and there is a new initiative on the cross Atlantic flights from Dublin, Republic of Ireland only.

Basically all your USA immigration customs and arrival procedures can now be carried out in Dublin Airport, this means when you arrive in the USA you don’t have to have long queues for immigration and are treated like a domestic passenger. This is a great idea and can only be done from Dublin airport, giving you even more reason to visit the UK and Ireland and of course my favourite country – Northern Ireland (stop off on route to Dublin please).
