Visit the local zoo

Sedgwick County Zoo is the largest zoo in the state of Kansas and one of the largest in the United States. This is home to more than 2,500 animals of about 500 different species. The zoo was established by the founders of the Sedgwick County Zoological Society in the 1960s and to this day, it remains a touristy spot for those in search of a different city experience. In 2009, the Slawson Family Tiger Trek opened in what represented a great addition to an already fascinating zoo. Make sure you visit these on the last Friday of the month if you can, as these are free then.
