The Best Tips for Travelling Around Europe!
If you’re an avid traveller, then you’ve more than likely got Europe on your list of places to see. Many people don’t just visit Europe quickly before getting on to the ‘real’ travelling. They spend time really exploring and getting to know the place. Europe is a brilliant place for travellers all on its own. Here are some of the best tips for travelling around Europe:
Look at Hostels
Of course if you want the real European travelling experience, it only makes sense to stay in hostels. Safe hostels, of course! You’ll save a lot of money and get to meet people who are doing exactly the same thing as you. Just make sure you read up on the hostel first so that you can be assured it’s safe and right for you. If you are planning on staying in lots of hostels as you travel, take a doorstop with you. This will stop strangers from coming in. You may also want to take your own set of sheets, just incase!
Don’t Go OTT on Alcohol
Alcohol in Europe is so much more expensive than any other place you’ll go to, so make sure you don’t go OTT with it. Drink too much and you’ll quickly eat into your budget. By drinking local beverages you’ll save money, but save the drinking for special occasions.
Keep an Eye Out for Scams
Keep an eye out for scams, as there are many in Europe. This shouldn’t stop you from doing things or speaking to people, but you do need to be on your guard. Many scams focus on distraction, where they may start a conversation with you. Children may even run up and shoot you with water pistols!
Don’t Get Flashy
You’ll attract scams more if you’re flashy when it comes to your cash, accessories or clothing. Don’t walk around in all of your finery or you will be a walking target for scammers.
Transport
When it comes to transport, you have lots of options. You could take the bus, train, hire a car, etc. You could even take an RV and make a road trip of it! Whatever suits you.
Pick the Time of Year Carefully
You’ll have totally different experiences at different times of year, so pick your time of year carefully. If you go nearer to Christmas, you’ll be able to get involved in lots of different celebrations and even the amazing new year celebrations! Make sure you know when tourist season is too, so you know what to expect.
Check Out Free Things to Do
You don’t need to spend lots of money doing stuff, as there are plenty of free things to do too. Fill your itinerary with free stuff and splash out on something that you really want to do occasionally.
