As you might have read, down the years I have had a few too many dates, flings and relationships. God wasn’t kind by giving me one true love to spend my life with yet. Each day I pray for just one love to spend the rest of my life with. For me, this has meant heart ache, wasted money, flirting with people who had no interest in me and being truly embarrassed in public and online by a former friend and girl who wanted to date me, but lied to me, and therefore has no chance.

Thanks to Lincolnshire County Council for their impressive Ask For Angela campaign, they help out people who have had bad dates. In my case, it wasn’t just a bad date, I was physically and sexually assaulted by a girl, later lied to and stalked by other fake “friends”, so I value the importance of this campaign a lot. While you might easily find love on a free dating site, you must delve deeper and take all necessary precautions in the dating game. Thanks to this campaign you can now feel much safer on dates.

What is Ask For Angela?
The Ask For Angela campaign was launched by Lincolnshire County Council in 2017 and has now seen other areas of the UK follow, with hopefully more publicity to continue. The campaign starts from the free dating site and the main Ask For Angela campaign.

Ask for Angela is also on Facebook. The initiative based in Lincoln in England (first launched by Lincolnshire County Council) has already been successful following a Metropolitan Police pilot study in England before Christmas 2017. It involves during a date being able to call a taxi for your date to get rid of them ASAP. I wish I had known about this during my date as this would have helped me avoid sexual assault and feel more comfortable about myself. Of course, in my case there was a lot more to it than this as I became suicidal, went missing and almost killed myself in the aftermath of the date, the friendship that was faked and the attempted sexual assault on me.So I urge all males and females in the UK, and beyond (my misfortunate date occurred in Poland) to check out the campaign and note the relevant details and phone numbers.

The Ask for Angela initiative has already been very successful and in Merton in the UK, over 50% of venues in the borough are signed up as the campaign continues to grow.

Finally before arranging dates, try and get more information about your potential date, as much information as possible always helps – first and second name (assuming they use real names), age, where they are from etc. In some instances, adding them as a friend on social media in advance can also be a huge advantage. If you can check their Facebook, Instagram, Twitter etc. then you can also see their activities and who their friends and family are so you can feel much more confident and ready for the date.

Finally, don’t be too scared though – it’s just a precaution. Most dates are fun and enjoyable and often lead to real and genuine romances. I guess I was just unlucky with the liars and nasty people I met on my journey.
