Best Restaurants in Sydney, Australia
Sydney is a gorgeous city, with amazing architecture, scenery, lifestyle and food. I spent about 2 years living there and loved it. There are a load of cool reasons to visit this beautiful city because it is the perfect getaway with family, friends and even alone if you enjoy your own company or need some time off from everything. And one of the most amazing aspects and highlights of Sydney is perhaps the food. It is not surprising that many Michelin star chefs originate from Australia because people in Sydney know their food very well and accept nothing but the best, which works well for travellers who come from all over the world to enjoy the city.
With one of the best food industries and wonderful restaurants in the country, you as a traveler might find it difficult to decide the place where you want to eat. So to help you out here is a list of some of the best restaurants in Sydney which must not be missed.

They have a revolutionary online system to make advance reservations for a great dining experience, so you can just get a reservation online by logging on to their website. However there is no reservation for their 5-seat bar, so for you to enjoy that you will have to take a chance and visit it unannounced.
The restaurant serves Japanese cuisine – one of the best you will find anywhere including Japan – at the cost of around AUD110 for lunch and AUD185 for dinner. Even if you are a big saver of money, let loose and bend rules for this place; it is worth every penny.
Quay
Ever heard of Peter Gilmore? If you are a foodie, you know him as a nature-lover, because that is who he is. Peter loves to take fresh rare ingredients and make unbelievable, full of aroma and exotic flavored food from them. The produce which he uses at Quay is grown in the organic farms of Blue Mountains, one of Australia’s finest destinations for everything related to food, and it is all produced organically. All this is combined with a beautiful ambience and scenery overlooking the ocean. This is one place which is not to be missed when in Sydney, Australia.
The lunch at Quay is a three course meal at AUD $135 per person (a four course meal option is available at AUD $155 per person). The dinner at Quay is a four course mean at AUD $175 per person.
Pancakes on the Rocks
We had a cool staff night out at this place so I have to have it on the list. Great pancakes and even some cool Mexican food plus beers, great milkshakes and the excellent location – by the Rocks!
This is one of the cheaper restaurants in this area, with pancakes starting at 15AUD.
Marque
This is one place which respects originality and promises to deliver an experience to people who come to eat here. The NYT has termed the food at Marque as the “best food in Australia”, and very rightly so; it truly is a unique experience.
The menu is set at AUD $165 mark for both lunch and dinner, with matching wines at around AUD $85 per person. Experiencing the new is what life is all about, and regardless of whether you are planning on visiting Sydney or not, you MUST come to the Marque for an experience of a lifetime.
PJ Gallagher’s Irish Pubs
PJ’s Irish Pubs are the best in all of Australia. Take your pick from the many that are scattered around the city including the downtown PJ’s Irish Tavern.
The signature dishes here are Guinness Pie and the Chicken Parmis. Head down on Happy Hour for meals under 20 AUD!
